Echo

I woke up in a haze today. I was happy because i remembered to clean my tile area and the maid gave me a round of applause, but I was quite tired from a late night yesterday and was a bit grouchy cause i could barely look outside without being blinded by the awesome power of that which is snow.

I went to class and gave the speech which i posted here, and it went ok. I was happy to see that other people gave speeches about jack johnson, the chili peppers and even midget throwing. After that, i skipped my 2 o'clock and came back for a nice 2-3 hour nap before i got up for dinner.

I went to the thai pepper with folks from d hall, and it was quite delicious. The waitress was super attentive and refilled our drinks almost after every sip. She even refilled our water cups when there was a pitcher right there at the table. It was nice, but maybe a little excessive.

After that, it was business as usual with b-ball, vending machines, daily show, south park, silver mine....

I hope everyone is enjoying whatever weather they are having. I'm just happy we got a break from all that damn sun. Seriously.

You are having of the touch

Another long night. I had to write a speech tonight, and i just finished. It's supposed to be commemorative, and i went through many different thought processes on how i wanted to write it. I was gonna make it about the earth through the eyes of a hippie, but i changed it as i went and it ended up kinda political. I think i made some nice connections though, and so i thought i'd let you guys read it. Follow this link if you wish, and i hope you enjoy.

Thar be pirates thar

No, fuck that. Ok, today I found out that I have a speech final at 7:00 AM on the 10th, the day of the Shins concert. That's fine, I can take a nap. Then, in my search for other finals, I found out I have one at 7:30 the morning after. No, fuck that.

If you want to hear a great vocal track, check out Dave Matthews' "An' Another Thing". It's as close to a modern opera as you'll find. Beautiful.

Splurge

Today was windy. I guess that's the most that can be said about the weather. Warm, but windy. When my speech teacher let us out early, I took the opportunity to head to Best Buy and see the new releases for this week. I ended up buying Ben Folds' new cd "Songs for Silverman", the Eels new cd "Blinking Lights and Other Revelations", and a Flaming Lips compilation cd. They're all good, but the last one is the most interesting to me.

Instead of it being the Flaming Lips' music (they do have their cover of the White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" on there) it's more like a mixed tape that they would put together, and it mostly shows off some of their favorite bands, and who they're influenced by. It's really good, and it's in a series with other bands such as Jamiroquai and Zero 7 (for all you Garden State fans) that have put these cds together. It's a good listen, and it's a great way to expand your musical boundaries, since I had only heard of 7 out of the 20 bands that were on there. The series is called LateNightTales, so check it out if you want. And check out the other cds while you're at it.

So, as you can probably tell, most of my day was spent next to the stereo, getting aquainted to the new music. Can't complain. I hope you all had a day as musically, but certainly not academically, as stimulating as mine.

Sucky Sucky: $5

Not much can touch a day like today. I consider my greatest accomplishment of the day to be that I paid $3 for a plate of spaghetti. My whole day was consumed by the spaghetti, and then I consumed the spaghetti. It was good and cheap. The rest of the day was spent listening to tunes and playing basketball. And Strange Brew was in there at the end.

End Post

I think I'm going to stop doing my other blog, since I don't update it much and I don't get much satisfaction out of it. Just thought I'd let you know.

Bog

I haven't written in a while, and now i feel like i have so much to say that i won't be able to fit it all in one post. Plus, most of you already know what's been going on here. A one run-on sentence summary would look like so: Brian was being a butthole to various authority figures for the entire week and it finally caught up with him when he started making noise and the guys from downstairs came up and started fighting with him and he got moved out of my room. It was all really crazy and i am now quite tired from the whole week. Next week looks pretty empty though so i'll be able to rest as much as i need to.

Last night helped. Just smoked a little and it calmed me down, and a girl at the party we were at kept taking her clothes off, so that was pretty cool. Everyone freaked out, but you could tell all the guys liked it, and all the girls just wanted to be as brave as her. Haha.

Another thing i forgot about in may. I'm gonna have to go to santa fe for a wedding. At least if i get back into town before my family leaves. So may will look like this:
4- Kings of Leon concert
10-Shins concert
13- Last day of school/leave for L.A. probably
18-20- E3
26- Get back to fort collins?
26- Leave for santa fe
30- Get back from santa fe
31- Mars Volta concert

Also, when we're in L.A., i gotta tour a school, surf, go to a dodgers game, and then we'll go down to sandiego to see Lori and go to the San Diego Zoo and Sea World.

After that, I'll still have almost the whole summer to look forward to. If I'm not dead after this, I'll probably be broke.

That sweet sweet scent

When we were playing basketball tonight, i came across a bloody nose. I thought it was weird how it just felt runny, but you can never smell the blood. Not until you pick your nose a bit and get the blood on your finger, then sniff it, can you smell the blood. You'd think that it would be easier to smell while inside your nose, but it's not always the case. Hm....

Not a whole bunch out of the ordinary happened today. Tonight was interesting though. for more info, check out meg's blog. I'd do a link, but my computer sucks, so i'll just tell you it's at www.megblogger.blogspot.com. Even i think this guy is creepy, so you know it's bad. We went on excursion to find him, but came up short. Too bad. Maybe next time.

The week's almost over, and the year is winding down. Callooh! Callay! Hope all is well.

Fashion Cents

I probably could've made some better choices with my wardrobe today. I wore athletic shorts and was gonna wear just a thin white shirt, that, even in the dorms, showed off quite a bit of nipple. I put on an undershirt, but my athletic shorts didn't bode well in the windy conditions. I did get a few smiles though.

I made another speech today. It was on Bupe, a drug that helps heroin addicts kick their habit, but it's getting caught up in a lot of crap, so a lot of addicts can't get it. The information was good in my speech, but i realized when i was speaking how many typing errors i made in the hour that i wrote it in last night. I guess that's how it goes.

Hope everyone had a good 4/20, whether you smoke the ganj or not.

Naked in the Rain

Mmmmmmm...... precipitation. I love it.

I'm sure if you go to CSU, then you've seen this kid's articles. He has the stupidest shit to talk about. It always pisses me off and that's why I read it. Here's his latest outing.

I know he writes the stuff to piss us (the frisbee throwing, hemp-jewelry wearing, Cheba Hut eating population) off, but it amazes me that The Collegian publishes his opinion every week.

Finding roaches in the pot

Today went by in a tired blur. I think everyone was tired today. Everyone i talked to was, at least. I spent some of my day right here. Check it out for sure. It's a blast. Literally. My high score is 2,225 feet, so see if you can best me. Show me proof that you beat it, and I'll give you $3. This is the first official Carlton Hung contest. Good luck.

The Straight Poop

Today was quite a tire. I went to church for the first time in quite a while because they were having a meeting about the future of the church after the service, and being one of the only younger people at the church, they wanted my input. I spent the whole service in the nursery coloring, even though there were no kids there. I found out that it's a lot easier to take in a service if you have a simple task to partially occupy your mind... like coloring in a clown by the numbers. At the meeting, I figured they'd ask me what kinds of activities would be fun for younguns to do and stuff like that, but a lot of the meeting was financial and a bunch of crap i didn't really care about. It was kind of discouraging, but it was their fault a lot. They said that they wanted to grow, but not a lot. I figured it was hard to find that middle ground, so if they want me to pitch in to help them grow a lot, then i can. Otherwise it's their own problem.

After that i came and played some b-ball with the boys in the nice sun, and then played some racquetball with my dad and edward. My legs refuse to move now. They're pissed. Other than that, i didn't do a whole bunch today. Just enjoyed the rest of the weekend. Hope everyone had a good one.

Squares

Yesterday was a hassle. The stuff that Edward and I had to send in for E3 was due yesterday, and we didn't really have any of the stuff. I went to my mom's office to get a fax that we needed and then realized that we also needed another form of identification, so we decided to get some business cards. We went to blockbuster to get an example card, and then we went back to my house and photo shopped it up, making it look mighty fine. Just like that, we were employees at blockbuster. Then, when we had everything we needed, we tried to fax it, but the line was busy, and since the office was in Mass, we figured it might be closed because of the time change. Luckily, it was tax day, and the post office was open until 10, so we went there and sent the stuff out. Let's cross our fingers to see if they get it in time and accept our documents.

Then, we came back here and i was a little lazy, so i stayed in for the night instead of going to a party with some of the peeps here. When they left, we pulled up all of the red carpet squares in our hall and put them right by our door, and switched them with the green crappy ones. We only have 3, so we'll go get some more from other halls later, but the timing must be right. Then I watched run lola run, which i realized would be freakin awesome if i was under the influence of something. I'll try that sometime.

Tonight i'm feeling a bit more peppy, so i think i'll get out and try to find a party or whatever. We'll see. Hope everyone's weekend is going well.

Money roots on all weevils.

Another thing happened today which kinda pissed me off since i was in a similar situation not too long ago.

Lindsey got into a car accident today and she wanted me to go with her to talk to this guy. We met him at kinko's and took pictures of his car and looked at the damage estimates. The damage was estimated at $1300, and all the damage i could see was a busted fog light and the plastic license plate cover was broken, and not much else. Dead serious. There was a cracked headlight cover, but i dont' see how both could've been caused by Linz since they were on opposite ends of the car and the angle was too extreme. There was also an estimate for paint damage, but other than the rust coloration that I'm guessing was already there, i think it looked fine.

So, my car cost $600 or something like that to make it drivable, and my fuckin axle was lodged into the rim of the tire, and they had to fix a bunch of other shit. The rest of it, i left. This damage was estimated around $1300 also, and from this, my door wouldn't open and the wheel well was pushed all the way in by the engine block. This just boggles the mind. Here is this kid's car. It drives. Both of the headlights work, and who the fuck cares about foglights. And a license plate cover? It shouldn't be on there in the first place.

If she has to pay for this kid's "damages", then i will go and find his car and beat the shit out of it with a bat, and then possibly torch it. If you want to join in, you can help.

Ill logic

Why oh why is the urinal in the gym bathroom no more than 2 feet off the ground? I almost have to squat down so i don't urinate on the top on it. Seriously people, wake up to the future.

Other than that i can't complain. I can almost taste the end of the school year. I got a busy week, but that means i probably won't have much more work until finals week once i get through this. May is gonna be a freaking crazy ass, drunken haze, party my ass off and do whatever i feel like month. I'm going to one concert for sure and am looking at 2 more. Last night mitch and i got our tickets for kings of leon at the fox theatre in boulder and then i might go to the shins and the mars volta in the same month. That's not to mention going to l.a. right after finals week. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. Can't wait. And then i'll have the summer to sit and relax until i move into the new place.

Also, i might as well say it now, and i'm sure you all give a shit, since i don't really, but i probably won't be going to school next year, and i'll just work. That way i can still live with the guys and make money, rather than spend it. After next year, i'll probably go back to school somewhere else, but it's really undecided at this point. Just to keep you informed.

That's really all that's been going on. If anyone wants to go to those concerts, either look it up yourself, or tell me and we can go together. I don't have anyone to go with to the mars volta, so if you're interested, tell me for sure.

Lates.

Apr 11, 2005

Get a little air.

This was a pretty damn good weekend. A pretty damn shit hell ass good weekend indeed. On friday, eddie and i went down to boulder and partied hearty. I made a mistake and i ended up throwing up over it. I had a little alcohol in my system, but it shouldn't have been enough to make me throw up, but when we were looking for some food, we got some grandma's cookies, and in my state of mind, i forgot that the semi-sweet chocolate chunks that they are made with fuck with my stomach something fierce. So i ate two of the cookies, and after a while i started feeling not so good. I wasn't even messed up really, but i went into the bathroom and hurled. Then i came back and sat for a while, and i felt bad again so i went and blew some more chunks. And it was pretty much all chocolate. Yeah, after that i felt great so i cleaned up the mess and went back and finished out the night.

The next morning, everyone thought i would be hung over and everything just cause i threw up, but i felt great still. Eddie and i came back to the fort and then i went home to see the rents. We went and saw sin city, which was my second time, and it still kicked ass. I took it easy and spent the night in my nice warm soft bed. I slept so hard, and woke up to a shitload of snow. I was supposed to go to church, but it was cancelled... couldn't believe it. So i went back to bed. I woke up when eddie called me and asked if i wanted to go snowboarding at the dorms. I didn't know where the fuck he was talking about, so we went to epic and snowboarded there. We built a ramp and spent the day doing tricks. It was fun, and free. When we came back to the dorms, some people from the other hall built a snow fort... a real one, where you could walk in and stand up and there was a blanket over the doorway. We sat in there for a couple minutes and then came back up to warm up a bit. Just kicking it.

I hope everyone is enjoying the weather and you had a good weekend.

Barbie Dream Wonderland Wedding Party Planner Funcenter W/ Keg

Ok, there's been talk of how much a wedding could cost. I'll probably leave a lot of shit out, but let me see if i can get it close. Also, i don't know how much it costs for a marraige certificate, so we'll discard that.

Invitations - $2.00 (print on regular paper, like you would a 3rd grade party invite)

Reservations - Free -- Go up to the mountains and find a gazeebo. You may have to rent the place, but that would be stupid and you could find somewhere else.

Tux - $50 max -- If you don't already have a black suit jacket, you can rent one. Don't worry about pants. You might look goofy, but a nice pair of shorts can compliment the formal attire quite well. Plus, when you look back at the wedding pictures, you can cut them all off at the waist.

Dress - $100-$200 -- I don't really care what they wear. It can be their old prom dress or something as long as they feel comfortable in it.

Decoration - $10 -- Get a few spools of something, or some little confetti to put on the tables or whatever. A lot of people over decorate and the decorations get in the way anyways. Also, an outdoor setting creates it's own decorations.

Entertainment - Free -- In the world of itunes and all that shit, you shouldn't need a dj, you should just be able to set up playlists yourself and maybe have a friend run it if you need to. If you don 't have a good sound system, it might be a problem, but you can probably borrow one from a friend or your church or something.

Food/Booze - $250 -- This is the main thing that you need to keep people happy. I'd say you should have alcohol since it's celebratory. Two kegs should be enough depending on how many people you invite, but if you have it in the mountains, people will get drunk faster, thus consuming less beer. Also, with designated drivers, that's one less person per party that'll be drinking. One keg could even do it. If you don't want alcohol, sparkling cider works well. It can be bought in many shapes and sizes and shouldn't run you any more than alcohol would. Then, to eat, that's a toss up. Depending on the time of day and such, this can vary. Whatever you choose, it shouldn't be terribly expensive, as most people usually expect there to be "a little something something" to eat, but not a whole meal. Also, if the wedding is short, people will get less hungry as their sitting there thinking about how hungry they are.

Priest - I dunno. See if they'll do it for free. It would be mean of them not to, as long as you've become friends with them over the years. If not, we'll say... $80 plus food/drinks.

I can't think of a whole bunch more that a wedding would need. A ring would be nice, but that's not in the cost of a wedding. That comes before. So let me see if i can do the math here.

By my calculations, at the least it would cost $412 and at the most would be a shade under $600. I'm sure no chicks would go for this kind of wedding, but I would be fine with it. And, it comes in under my previous predictions, which were said to be impossible to achieve. If you have more stuff that should be added, drop a line.

No-ciety

Tonight brian and i were watching tv and they had the most expensive weddings on. They were talking about "bennifer" and how ben is dating jennifer garner now. Then they compared the amount of money that ben has spent on j lo and jennifer garner. He spent more on j lo, but i gotta say... who the fuck cares? He spent millions of dollars on j lo, and their relationship ended up being bad in the end. Also, it had donald trump/the donald/ the fucking anti-christ and it said that he spent $5 million on his wedding and had flowers shipped from new york to florida to be at the wedding. Why would money have anything to do with the amount of love that two people have? It seems like it would be negatively correlated. We decided that we would like to have weddings that cost not much more than $500 to $1000. Ours wives might not go for it, but the point is, love shouldn't have a price tag on it like society has.

I'm desensitized

Today was pretty good. I woke up with a fresh state of mind, and got some tasty breakfast with sara, then played some football with the boys. It was wicked nice out today. Like, take off the shirt and show off the belly to the girls nice. When we finished i decided i should do some laundry since i had been wearing the same pair of pants for four days straight... don't tell anyone. I went home and right when i got there my parents said they were going to henry's memorial service, if you remember me talking about him from before. It was up at lookout mountain, and if you don't know where that is, you should find out. You can see almost all of the eastern plains from there and there's also buffalo bill's gravesite. It's a cool place and it was a good reception. It was really informal and it was more celebratory, which is why i didn't mind checking out this really cute girl that was there. There was also beer there. Fat tire and corona... and it was free. my parents said they'd hook me up, but i figured i shouldn't. But man, at that altitude you could get messed up so fast.

I got back and we played some b-ball and that was the end of the night for the most part.

Night riders

As meg asked in a comment on my blog: "pablooooo why you go skiiing at night". Well meggery, because it's fun. Well, i didn't know that until yesterday, but now i do. I skipped out of school a bit early yesterday and went snowboarding at night with mitch, eddie, and a bunch of mitch's friends from boulder. It was fun for sure, even though there were a few setbacks. First, the release lever on my bindings broke clean off, so i had to wiggle my foot out of the binding, and then take the strap completely off so it wouldn't get in my way. It still rode ok, and it's the last time i'm gonna use those bindings, so that wasn't too big of a deal.

Then, around 7:45, the owners of keystone decided to close the lifts at 8, instead of 10. We had only gotten in about 2 hours of riding, minus about an hour+ from riding the gondola and everything. Luckily, i still had my pass so i didn't have to pay, but i feel bad for everyone else who got screwed on that. And it was a pain in the ass that we were driving for almost double the time we got to actually ride. So that was stupid.

Right now i'm just watching the final four. YAYYY! Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

Stay the hell away from me, Chris!

For many years, Mitch and I have had the sneaking suspicion that someone has been watching us. This has come up many times, and we've even found a few suspects, but it was never confirmed. I think this comic does just that. When Edward, Brian and I were down in Mitch's dorm room, Edward called his credit card company and in the background Brian was saying "Sir, there isn't any chance that you are of latino descent, is there?" Then, today, this comic comes out, which practically mirrors our situation.

Other ideas that have been stolen from us in the past:
Pocket Socks
The Keg Can (or Kag/Cag/Kan)
The idea that a man is sent to prison and then he writes a children's book and gains sympathy from the entire nation (this was made into a tv movie with jamie foxx).

Those are just the ones that i can think of for now, but there's plenty more. Mitch, you can back me up here.

Remember to read my other post from today... it's important.

Trippy night.

I just finished watching Donnie Darko tonight. It's still crazy as hell, and i'm still finding new explanations for things. It was Sara's first time watching it, and she seemed to do ok with figuring it out. There was still questions that i had to answe.... oh my god. Late breaking news. Mitch Hedberg died of a heroin overdose. Holy shit man. Everyone is dying it seems like. It's really sad. Johnny Cochran, Terri Schaivo, The Pope (in very bad condition), Mitch Hedberg. Damn, let's have a moment of silence.

But yeah. If you hadn't heard Mitch Hedberg's standup, you definitely have to listen to it. He was a funny funny man. Make a point to find his standup, and remember him...
